EN: Skiing with Children in Klewenalp (Nidwalden)

We have done it! Finally we have left our apartment on a Sunday morning, driven up to the Alps, skied the whole day and then come home in the same evening. As if this were the most natural thing in the world! And perhaps it is for native Swiss, but certainly not for my wife and me, who have grown up on the west coast of Sweden.

We went to Klewenalp (1600 meters; Canton: Nidwalden) - perfect for families with children, since the blue slopes dominate this small system. There was plenty of snow - albeit not new snow - so we were surprised that the lifts and slopes still were so empty. Is it perhaps not typically Swiss to go skiing any longer? ;)

The main advantage with Klewenalp is that it is so extremely easy to get there and back again. At 4:00 p.m. we entered the gondola which took us down to our car, parked (for free!) in Beckenried. At 5:05 p.m. we drove into our garage, back home in Zurich.
