EN: Hiking with Children at Flumserberg - Rounding Off on the Climbing Tower ‘Cliimber’

I have already written that I like the skiing at Flumserberg in the winter. A few weeks ago, we went there again with our children, this time to hike. We parked the car in Tannenboden, from where we took the cable car up to Prodkamm (1.939m).

Like earlier in Engelberg, we chose a trail with stations offering some extra activities. Here it is called the "tale and experience walk" (Sagenerlebnisweg) and the objective of all tasks is to impart on young hikers how to behave in the nature of the Alps plus which flora and fauna they can find there.

To our delight the meadows were still full of flowers but also of cow dung, in which both our sons managed to tread. This did not ruin their mood so we had a great day of hiking in the late summer sun.

And the best was still to come: after a lunch with Swiss food down at Prodalp we went up into the giant climbing tower Cliimber. There you can try out challenges of varying difficulty, but thanks to a clever locking system you are fully secured all the time. We had never done anything like this before, but it did not take long before my sons had learned how to proceed from one security wire to another. I was highly impressed by their courage and speed but that was nothing compared to what my wife felt, where she stood observing us from down below.
