EN: Skiing with Children in Davos-Klosters (Switzerland)

My wife has always said that Davos-Klosters (Graubünden) is her favorite ski resort in Switzerland and now also I have finally had the opportunity to experience it. We went there during the final days of our children's Christmas holidays and, for the first time so far, we traveled by train.

Admittedly, we only explored the part of the ski area which is called Parsenn. The blue and red slopes here suited our eight- and eleven-year-old sons perfectly and on the last day they kept good speed even in areas with small moguls.

The weather was the same every day: until two o'clock we had sunshine and fine dry snow. After that it became cloudy and started to snow, so then we slowly headed back to our hotel. We stayed half board at the lodge Ereszäss, which we can recommend not the least thanks to the personal service by the manager there. The breakfast buffet was rich and the dinner menus truly interesting. The hotel is literally perched on the slopes and you reach it on skis. This might sound idyllic but is not ideal when your children - as in our case - are not accustomed to ski with full backpacks.

For future trips, I have also learned that going by car is preferable if you - as we this time – plan to stay for several nights. To travel from Zurich to the ski resorts in Graubünden you have to change trains and that is anything but convenient when you, on top of your own belongings, also have to carry also your children's skis and most of their luggage. ;)
